VENTURA, Calif. -- The No. 2-ranked Santa Barbara City College women's water polo team earned its 11th consecutive Western State Conference championship, besting Cuesta College 20-7 on Saturday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. Katie Strohl led the Vaqueros at both ends of the pool, dishing out 4 assists and grabbing 5 steals to go with her 3 goals. The Vaqs jumped out to an early lead, holding a 5-1 advantage after the first quarter.

The first home game of the season, it also increased their undefeated program record against Ventura to 20-0. "That was great. I'm really happy for the kids," head coach Chukie Roth said. "We had a lot of kids get some great minutes. It was a great day." Trailing 2-1 after the first quarter, the Vaqueros scored four straight to begin the second.
