Before we jump into the DA Round Up, the Housing Delivery Authority (HDA) recently recommended eight significant housing projects across the Northern Beaches LGA as State Significant Developments (SSD). The HDA was established to streamline major projects, basically fast-tracking large-scale housing proposals. Developers submit their proposed development to the HDA who recommends whether it should be declared State Significant.

Northern Beaches Council will begin construction of a new public toilet block at Freshwater Beach in August 2026. The standalone building, shaped by community consultation, will feature accessible toilets, a family change room, and unisex handwashing facilities. It will also include a toddler toilet within the accessibility/family change room, a first for Northern Beaches public amenities.

Liquorland Narrabeen has been targeted by thieves with reports the store has had at least three thefts in the last week. We understand the store will now be locking its entrance, with customers buzzed in by staff while Liquorland works with police. Other additional security measures will also be put in place to protect customers and the team it has been confirmed.
