The incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. on April 30 in the front lobby at the McKellips District station near Miller and McKellips roads. SAFE Alert canceled for missing 89-year-old last seen in Phoenix

Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Monday, one day after it was issued for an 89-year-old man who was last seen in Phoenix. The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued the alert for Sebunyenyeri Munyangeri, saying he was last seen near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 1 p.m. Sunday. Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez, a spokesperson with the Phoenix Police Department, said he had not been in danger. “Sebunyenyeri has returned home this morning safe and sound,” Fernandez said in a Monday update.

Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Sunday for a missing 89-year-old man last seen in Phoenix. Sebunyenyeri Munyangeri was last seen near the area of 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 1 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Munyangeri is 5-foot-6 and weighs 140 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes, and speaks Rohingya. He was last seen wearing a brown cap, gray suit and black dress shoes, DPS said. He has a medical condition that may cause him to become easily confused.
