Police: SUV rolls after driver flees, killing passenger in Phoenix
PHOENIX — A woman is dead, and three others were hurt after an SUV rolled in north Phoenix early Saturday morning, according to Phoenix police. Police said officers responded around 3 a.m. to reports of a man with a gun near 19th and Peoria avenues. A caller reported the man pointed a gun at someone at a nearby business before leaving in a white Nissan Armada. Officers later found a vehicle matching that description near 23rd and Peoria avenues and tried to pull it over, police said.

San Francisco adds MLB All-Star Game to growing list of major events
The All-Star Game is returning to San Francisco in two years. Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred made the announcement Friday that the 2028 Midsummer Classic will be at Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. The 2007 game was played in the picturesque waterfront ballpark, featuring Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki's famous inside-the-park home run that bounced off the tricky wall in right-center field.
Deadly shooting reported after Goodyear house party, police say
GOODYEAR, AZ — A man is dead, and another person was hurt after a shooting at a house party in Goodyear early Saturday morning, according to Goodyear police. Police said officers were called to the area of 107th Avenue and Camelback Road just before 2 a.m. after people reported hearing multiple gunshots. According to police, juveniles and young adults were leaving the party when the shots were fired.

5 shot near Virginia State University dorms; campus lockdown lifted
A shooting involving multiple suspects and five people shot at Virginia State University prompted a campus lockdown and police investigation early Saturday. It happened near the university's Quad Annexes, where campus police and Chesterfield County officers discovered five people suffering from gunshot wounds outside campus dormitories.
