Stay home Friday, if you can
I am a member of Faith in Minnesota-Mankato/St Peter. People are getting worried about what is happening but don’t know what kind of action to take. Here is a suggestion: This Friday, a coalition of over 100 organizations, unions and others are coming together for A Day of Truth and Freedom. We need to disrupt the normal economic routine, causing businesses to notice the difference when the populace decides not to participate in business as usual. No work. No school. No shopping.
State Republicans not following law
As Minnesotans, we value the rule of law and voters’ voices being heard. With last session’s Democratic trifecta, laws were enacted to make peoples’ lives better, such as paid family medical leave, free school lunches, voter protections and more. Despite all the money brought in to support Republican candidates, voters gave us a tie with 67 Republican and 67 DFL House members elected. Shared leadership was agreed to by both sides.
Ulmen knows her community, hard work
I first met Marisa Ulmen at the DFL fundraiser in Watonwan County two years ago, when I heard her speak as a candidate. I was impressed. Since learning she was running for Minnesota House in District 22A again this year, I have seen her in many different settings and always been impressed by what she brings to the table — or to the parade with her cute baby goat in tow. Ulmen is a fifth-generation family farmer in Watonwan County farming the land, raising animals and producing goat cheese.
