Discussion Apple scab was to begin with recognized in Sweden in 1819 and has since spread to Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. The disease was first discovered in China in Hebei Province and has now spread to 12 provinces such as Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province, Xinjiang Province and Henan Province (Fu et al., 2010a). In this places, large-scale epidemics have occurred with serious economic losses.
