I am Barbara Fuller, and it is with immense pride and a deep sense of commitment to our beloved state chose to run for the delegate position currently held by Del. Paul Espinosa (R-Jefferson), who is running to represent Jefferson County in the state Senate. My roots run from the shores of Long Island to the warm embrace of the Kearneysville, and my life’s journey is woven with threads of dedication to journey is woven with threads of dedication to family, community and personal aspirations.

In 1787 the Constitutional Convention convened. After five weeks the representatives from the colonies were deadlocked. They were arguing and they couldn’t come to any sort of conclusion. Before they all called it quits, Ben Franklin got up and reminded them how they used to pray before all meetings during the Revolutionary War. So they stopped and they prayed for three days. What did that accomplish? Well, I’ll tell you. Thirty-four percent of the Constitution comes directly from Bible verses.

EDITOR’S NOTE: On Sept. 15, during a Jefferson County Commission meeting a few citizens continued previous public comments over a photo that recently posted on social media of Jefferson County Commissioner Tricia Jackson posing with two supporters of the Proud Boys political group flashing a three-fingered “OK” hand gesture. The Jefferson County NAACP has asked Jackson to declare whether she supports white supremacy and racism because of the photo, which Jackson has not done.
