Abstract Contemporary management of multiple sclerosis is based on the clinical course descriptors of relapsing–remitting, secondary progressive and primary progressive. However, recognition is growing in the field that these clinical course descriptors do not capture the full disease spectrum of multiple sclerosis or reflect the underlying biological mechanisms of disease, and that biologically informed course descriptors are needed.

Risk of depression in persons with Alzheimer's disease: A national cohort study

INTRODUCTION: Depression is a risk factor and possible prodromal symptom of Alzheimer's disease (AD), but little is known about subsequent risk of developing depression in persons with AD. METHODS: National matched cohort study was conducted of all 129,410 persons diagnosed with AD and 390,088 with all-cause dementia during 1998-2017 in Sweden, and 3,900,880 age- and sex-matched controls without dementia, who had no prior depression.

Abstract Objective To assess the implementation of teleneurology (TN), including patient and clinician experiences, during the coronavirus respiratory disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods We studied synchronous (video visit) and asynchronous (store-and-forward, patient-portal evaluation, remote monitoring) TN utilization in the Mount Sinai Health System Neurology Department in New York, 2 months before and after the start of our department's response to the pandemic in mid-March 2020.
