Born in 1938, in the small town of Willits, I was part of a large family, five kids and self-taught parents who brought their lives to me. My father, with his fourth-grade education, worked years to qualify and became qualified as a contracting plumber. My mother used her limited supply of material goods to build our wardrobes, create meals, grown gardens, etc. to create curiosity and learning with me.

INTRODUCTION: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an effective treatment for Parkinson's disease (PD), but its efficacy is tied to DBS programming, which is often time consuming and burdensome for patients, caregivers, and clinicians. Our aim is to test whether the Mobile Application for PD DBS (MAP DBS), a clinical decision support system, can improve programming.

From the initial diagnosis to surgery, there was little time to find or process information leaving caregivers blindsided.
