1. Introduction Vulvo-vaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a fungal infection of the female genital organs caused by the growth of fungi from the Candida family. It is estimated that approximately 75% of all women will experience vaginal candidiasis at least once in their lives, and approximately 5% suffer from recurrent candidiasis [1,2,3]. Therefore, the topical treatment of vaginal yeast infection may be a rational treatment choice. A very useful and widely used drug is clotrimazole (CLO).
