Callie Tresham lives in fictional New Cumberlin Falls, Ohio, seemingly a suburb of Wooster. Callie is riding with her grandmother, who is driving on an icy road when they are hit by a drunken driver, who then hits a third car. Callie has some nasty bruises and the other driver is badly hurt.
