Background American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) guidelines now recommend omission of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in specific low-risk patients. However, ASCO, SOUND, and INSEMA trials note that nodal status may be needed to guide adjuvant systemic and radiotherapy treatment decisions.
