U.S. to reinstate sanctions on Iranian energy sector as Trump pulls out of nuclear deal
By Bartolomej Tomić U.S. president Donald Trump on Tuesday terminated the U.S. participation in the Iran nuclear agreement devised in 2015 to curb Iran’s nuclear weapons development capacity, labeling it “one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into.” To remind, the deal was signed in 2015 by the P5+1 group (Russia, China, France, Britain, the US and Germany) and Iran, removing the key elements needed for Iran to create a nuclear bomb quickly.
Update: Pirates board offshore vessel in Nigeria
(Updates with comments from Tidewater, and piracy statistics by EOS Risk Group) By Bartolomej Tomić An offshore vessel was attacked and boarded by pirates on Tuesday while on its way to an FPSO offshore Nigeria. An EOS Risk Group analyst shared a social media post on Tuesday, according to which the pirates boarded the Saavedra Tide offshore support vessel while the vessel was on it way from the Abo field to the Egina FPSO. The vessel is owned by Tidewater.
SBM Offshore orders 2nd Fast4ward FPSO hull citing industry uptick
World’s largest FPSO provider SBM Offshore has confirmed it has ordered an FPSO Hull from China’s SWS shipyard on the back of an uptick in the FPSO industry and the increased client interest. The hull is the second FPSO Hull ordered under SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward program developed to standardize, speed up, and lower cost of an FPSO construction. According to the company, the Fast4Ward program speeds up FPSO delivery by a year and could save half a billion dollars per FPSO.
