Week seven of Texas High School football featured some thrillers, a few upsets and the opener to most team's district slate. Here's a rundown of the games: Parkland 56 - Hanks 41 Sarah Farms Game of the Week by Steve Escajeda Matadors spoil Blanco’s record-setting evening Hank’s Mykal Blanco may have broken the record, but it was the Parkland Matadors (1-0 district, 6-0 overall) who came away with the all-important 56-41 District 1-5A Div. 2 victory.

El Paso, TX - Today the Name the Team Contest begins for the El Paso United Soccer League (USL) team which will debut in 2019. Beginning now and through April 5, 2018, fans can login to www.epusl.com or www.elpasousl.com/nametheteam to enter their ideas for the name of El Paso’s new USL Team. “Since we announced USL Soccer was coming to El Paso, we have been asked repeatedly about the name of the team,” said Alan Ledford, President of MountainStar Sports Group.

El Paso, TX - Andrea Abeyta has been a standout runner at Hanks High School, earning a berth to state in 2017, and this season, her senior year at Hanks, Andrea is first in district in the 800M, the mile and two mile! She has been offered by Westpoint and Incarnate Word, holds a 4.0 GPA and is ranked #7 in her class! She is also a two-time winner of the Flo Hyman Award!
