Brachypteryx (Muscicapidae) ( Fig. 2H ) and Megalurus (Locustellidae) ( Fig. 2I ) display the single fossa condition, with a fossa pneumotricipitalis dorsalis that is broad yet shallow. In both taxa, the humerus is slender with a curved shaft and a distinctly shortened proximal end, and this is especially pronounced in Megalurus .
