PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona Public Service (APS) announced on Friday plans to temporarily shut off power for thousands of customers in parts of northern Arizona due to the increased risk of wildfires this weekend. Barring any changes to the weather forecast, APS will cut electricity to about 8,000 customers in high-fire risk areas around Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon as early as 10 a.m. on Saturday.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An active police situation has closed off a busy street in central Phoenix Friday morning. Indian School Road is shut down in both directions at 15th Avenue due to police activity that’s focused on a nearby apartment building. Video from the scene shows an open apartment door and a broken window. Multiple police officers were called to the area of 15th Avenue and Indian School Road on Friday morning.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A 15-year-old boy has been indicted in connection with a shooting at a mall in Maryvale earlier this month that left one teen dead and another hurt. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday that a grand jury recently indicted Guillermo Valentin Jimenez Guzman on one count of second-degree murder, four counts of aggravated assault and one count of disorderly conduct.
