The BC government is defending its position to keep a teacher’s identity under wraps after they were suspended for a day for tipping a student’s chair, causing them to hit their head. According to a Sept. 15 BC Commissioner for Teacher Regulation decision, the unidentified elementary school teacher was involved in an incident while teaching a vulnerable Grade 5 student. The decision said the student refused to listen to the teacher, so the teacher tipped up their chair.

It promised a slate of conservative candidates in Kamloops and Kelowna, as well as in towns and cities across the province, but the newly formed Conservative Electors Association hasn’t produced. Two months ago, Conservative Electors Association president David Denhoff told iNFOnews.ca that Kamloops would have mayoral and councillor candidates running on its slate. However, that’s not the case.

An opaque, socially conservative slate that ran school board candidates in Kelowna and Vernon during the last municipal elections appears to be out of the picture this time round. In 2022, ParentsVoice BC, under the slogan “More education, less indoctrination,” ran three candidates in Vernon and four in Kelowna, for a total of 28 candidates across eight school districts in BC.
