HURON –– Members of the Huron Rising 2.0 Downtown Committee spoke to the Huron City Commission Monday during public forum to discuss the group’s plans this year. This will begin with a workshop for downtown business owners on Tuesday and Wednesday. From there, the group intends to have another downtown gathering during the summer similar to last year’s “Dusting Off Dakota” event. They also discussed plans to expand the annual Parade of Lights with a post-parade event.

HURON — The Huron Tigers girls ran into one of the best teams in the state Thursday night, and the Class “A” second-ranked Lennox Orioles flexed their defensive muscles in the second half to pull away with a 43-28 victory at Huron Arena. The Orioles ran their offense in a methodical, patient manner to open the game. Libby Kranz scored the first bucket of the game on a backdoor cut for Lennox, and after working the ball around the perimeter, Karlie Bosma nailed a three for a 5-0 lead for Lennox.
