Scout Space, a Reston-based technology company specializing in systems and software deployed on satellites, will invest more than $1 million to expand its operations in Fairfax County, Gov. Abigail Spanberger announced Tuesday. Scout Space plans to create 31 jobs in Virginia and add 2,650 square feet of office space at a new manufacturing facility in Merrifield.

CACI International U.S. operations president to retire

After nearly a decade at Reston-based Fortune 500 government contractor CACI International, DeEtte Gray plans to retire as president of U.S. operations June 30, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Gray will remain with the company as a strategic adviser throughout the remainder of 2026, according to the filing.

U.Va. gifted $43.4M for early childhood learning center

The money will be used to establish an early childhood learning center in Charlottesville. University of Virginia alumni Kathleen and David LaCross have given $43.4 million to the School of Education and Human Development at their alma mater, according to a Friday announcement. It’s the largest donation in the education school’s history.
