As working teachers depending on retirement security in a climate-safe future, we’re confused and disappointed by the Ontario Teachers’ Federation’s (OTF) announcement to appoint Alberta oil and gas executive Deborah Stein to the board of directors of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP). We’re calling on OTF, the representative of teachers in OTPP’s governance, to retract this appointment before it becomes effective on Jan. 1.
