Written By Bill Simpson On one of my earliest explorations when I moved down to this area last year, I took the Burwell Road from Longwoods (a couple of kilometers west of the 402) down to the Thames River, where I found and stopped at a historical plaque (part of the Middlesex Heritage Trail) which marks the old Burwell Memorial Church and Cemetery.

This time of the year seems to encourage us to eat too much. There are multiple opportunities each day to overeat and to overeat unhealthy foods with frequent parties and more snacks available in the break room and in our homes. The holiday season is also known to be a time for gaining weight. I think of mindful eating as a way to avoid this unintended consequence of this otherwise wonderful time of the year. What is mindful eating? It is really paying attention to the process of eating.
