In vitro evaluation of the osteogenic associated cellular response and antibacterial activities of Vitex negundo leaf aqueous extract
Abstract Plant-derived bioactive compounds have emerged as promising candidates for enhancing osteoblast function and bone formation because of their osteogenic potential and with minimal cytotoxicity. This study investigated the osteogenic associated activity and antibacterial properties of Vitex negundo leaf aqueous extract (VNL-AE) using osteoblast-like SaOS-2 cells and pathogenic bacteria.
DP21832 Local Trade Wars
English Français Deutsch Italiano 中文 More Español Ελληνικά 日本語 Português Türkçe Modern protectionism has increasingly taken the form of decentralized trade coercion rather than multilateral escalation. What tariffs prevail in such local trade wars? How are welfare consequences shared between participants and bystanders? And can targeted economies credibly deter unilateralism?
Pachymic acid alleviates hepatic lipid accumulation and oxidative stress in MASLD via regulation of the Keap1–Nrf2–HO-1 signaling axis
Abstract Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a rapidly growing metabolic disorder with no FDA-approved treatment. Pachymic acid (PA; synonym: 3-O-acetyltumulosic acid), a lanostane-type triterpenoid, shows potential for treating MASLD. However, its mechanisms remain underexplored. Objective: This work evaluated the therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of PA in treating MASLD.

The construction of improved evaluation indicator system and quantitative method of hydropower station dispatching scheme - Scientific Reports
Abstract The formulation of hydropower station dispatch plans is a critical task for dispatch personnel. Hydropower stations must balance multiple, often competing, functional objectives, necessitating robust methods to identify optimal scheduling schemes that best satisfy diverse operational requirements. However, existing approaches often lack the capability to dynamically adapt to shifting priorities among competing objectives during critical operational periods like reservoir drawdown.

Viscoelastic behavior of wormlike micellar solutions formed by an aspartame-based bicephalous anionic surfactant
Viscoelastic behavior of wormlike micellar solutions formed by an aspartame-based bicephalous anionic surfactant Innovation in the molecular design of surfactants holds great potential for developing novel soft materials with unique properties. A surfactant with a long alkyl tail is expected to form giant aggregates with intriguing behavior. However, the molecules with a large hydrophobic group often suffer from poor solubility in solutions, inhibiting the aggregation process.

MKP1 promotes nonalcoholic steatohepatitis by suppressing AMPK activity through LKB1 nuclear retention - Nature Communications
Abstract Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is triggered by hepatocyte death through activation of caspase 6, as a result of decreased adenosine monophosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase-alpha (AMPKα) activity. Increased hepatocellular death promotes inflammation which drives hepatic fibrosis. We show that the nuclear-localized mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatase-1 (MKP1) is upregulated in NASH patients and in NASH diet fed male mice.

Research on Improved Traffic Flow Prediction Network Based on CapsNet
Abstract : Traffic flow prediction is the basis and key to the realization of an intelligent transportation system. The road traffic flow prediction of city-level complex road network can be realized using traffic big data. In the traffic prediction task, the limitation of the convolutional neural network (CNN) for modeling the spatial relationship of the road network and the insufficient feature extraction of the shallow network make it impossible to accurately predict the traffic flow.

Oxidative dehydrogenation of light alkanes to olefins on metal-free catalysts
Oxidative dehydrogenation of light alkanes to olefins on metal-free catalysts Metal-free boron- and carbon-based catalysts have shown both great fundamental and practical value in oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) of light alkanes. In particular, boron-based catalysts show a superior selectivity toward olefins, excellent stability and atom-economy to valuable carbon-based products by minimizing CO2 emission, which are highly promising in future industrialization.
