The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) is one of the cornerstone investors in Chinese electronics manufacturing giant Luxshare’s expected $3.1 billion Hong Kong IPO, which opened Tuesday. The UAE sovereign wealth fund is one of nearly two dozen major state-backed investors, asset management firms and funds investing in the IPO, including Singapore’s wealth fund Temasek, investment firms GIC and Oaktree, asset managers HK Greenwoods, UBS Asset Management (Singapore).

MENA M&A deals could take ‘months’ to regain lost ground after Iran war

Mergers and acquisitions in the MENA region have not been derailed, but Bank of America (BofA) predicts a long recovery from the reduced dealmaking activity caused by the conflict between Iran and the US and Israel. According to LSEG Q1 data, MENA M&A activity declined 74% year-on-year (YoY), slipping to $18.8 billion from the previous year’s recorded $66.4 billion.

GCC real estate debt issuances may find no takers amid Iran war

Investor demand for GCC real estate bond and sukuk issuances is not likely to rebound this year, with executives at financial services firm Arqaam Capital declaring the debt market effectively “closed” for developers for the remainder of 2026. “I don’t think anyone is going to be very excited about investing in real estate companies in the immediate future,” said Omar Musharraf, Managing Director for Debt Solutions and DCM at Arqaam Capital.
