why I primarily write in English.

I was invited for an interview at a television studio today. More on that later. During the interview, I brought up something that made me want to think about it more deeply. I talked about how I mostly write in English, and I touched a little on why I do that. Photo by VD Photography on Unsplash I said something along these lines: sometimes it can be triggering or traumatic to write in Nepali, especially as a queer person, because so much of the bullying I experienced happened in that language.

on going off anxiety meds after years of relying on them Three weeks back, I went to see my psychiatrist as part of my regular follow-up, which I have been doing for some years now. It had been a while since my doctor had been lowering my doses of antidepressants for anxiety. At this appointment, I thought he would tell me to continue my medicine by lowering the doses further, but he checked in with me and then advised that I could stop the meds. He did prescribe me SOS (if necessary) pills.

I’m privileged enough to not worry about shelter and not have rain bother me. But it’s not the same for the several landless families evicted with strong force and zero preparation by the government, who were living the squatter life on the riverbanks.
