Op-Ed: Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer: The proxy advisory duopoly’s day of reckoning is here
I would venture that most Americans have never heard of Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) or Glass Lewis. That is not an accident. These two firms have spent years shaping how trillions of dollars in shareholder votes get cast while staying out of the spotlight, and yet if you have a 401(k), a pension, or own a mutual fund, there is a good chance your investments have been influenced by recommendations you never approved and likely never saw.
From Small Coins to Big Change, Every Vote Counts - Gasconade County Republican
Reflecting on last week’s election, I want to start by addressing a common sentiment that I’m sure you’ve heard before: “My vote doesn’t count.” Imagine you have loose change in your pocket—pennies, nickels, maybe a dime or two. You have a choice: You could toss it aside or put it in a jar. At first, it doesn’t look like much, but over time, those small coins can add up to something meaningful, maybe even a step closer to that family vacation you’ve been planning.
Rep. Luetkemeyer, Sen. Schmitt Introduce Bills to Block Funding for UN’s Corrupt Climate Organizations
Today, Congressman Luetkemeyer (MO-3) introduced the No Tax Dollars for the United Nations Climate Agenda Act. This legislation would prohibit President Biden from sending more U.S. tax dollars to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Green Climate Fund (GCF), which advise governments around the world on climate change. Sen. Eric Schmitt (MO) introduced a companion bill in the Senate.

Rebuilding Stronger - Gasconade County Republican
Natural disasters leave a lasting mark on communities, and for Missouri, the Great Flood of 1993 changed the landscape of agriculture for years to come. As floodwaters overwhelmed the mighty Mississippi and Missouri Rivers, they swept across thousands of acres of fertile farmland, drowning crops and submerging equipment. From April to October, Missouri’s farmers—many of whom had worked the land for generations—saw their livelihoods disappear beneath the water.

Congressional Art Competition
History of the Congressional Art Competition Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district. My office looks forward to seeing the work of the talented students who live in my congressional district. All high school students are allowed to compete in the competition.
Fighting against human trafficking - Gasconade County Republican
January is Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Of all the issues we face as a nation and society, the kidnapping and enslaving of our fellow Americans is the gravest. Like the fentanyl crisis, it’s a phantom evil assaulting our communities. We might not notice it, but heinous crimes could be underway around us at any time. St. Louis often comes up in the news related to human trafficking because of its location in the middle of the country and the convergence of major interstates and highways.
Marsha Blackburn, Blaine Luetkemeyer, Travis Weber, Mark Robinson
On today’s program: Marsha Blackburn, U.S. Senator from Tennessee, provides an update on Senate border negotiations and discusses her re-introduction of the Woman’s Right To Know Act. Blaine Luetkemeyer, U.S. Representative from the 3rd District of Missouri, provides analysis of requests by federal officials for banks to provide information on customers who purchased religious texts, including the Bible.
New year, same focus - Gasconade County Republican
Happy New Year! I hope you’ve enjoyed time with loved ones and feel ready to take on 2024. Last week, I wrote to you reflecting on the past year. Today, I’d like to look ahead toward what you can expect this Congressional session. It’s no secret, 2023 ended on a mostly sour note in Congress. Between new global conflicts to address and stalled progress on our conservative priorities, we have our work cut out for us.
Small Business Spotlight: Hustle & Heart Sports Performance
A new year is just around the corner, so it’s time to write out our resolutions. Maybe you want to start hitting the gym or find ways to give back to your community. A new small business in St. Charles County does both every day. Hustle & Heart Sports Performance is located just off Main Street in O’Fallon, Missouri, near Fort Zumwalt High School. Founder Pierre Desir outfitted the facility to train young athletes and help them reach their dreams.
Pumping the breaks on Biden's free market tampering
By Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer R-Missouri Washington, D.C. – Have you ever bought something because everyone said you had to have it? Then, once you try it, you wonder what all the fuss was about? President Biden has staked much of his presidency and next campaign on the hype of electrical vehicles (EVs). Not surprisingly, he’s spent a lot of time trying to prop up the industry and force consumer demand when it fails to meet his expectations.
Blaine’s Bulletin: The Biden Administration Continues Catering to Iran
Reliable intelligence agencies around the world agree that Iran played a pivotal role in funding and training Hamas terrorists. Their calculated efforts, part of a 25-year plan to erase Israel from existence, directly contributed to 1,200 deaths on Oct. 7. The threat is far from over.
Luetkemeyer Sends Letter Blasting FHFA Director for Recent Comments
This week, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3), a member of the Financial Services Committee, sent a letter to Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Sandra Thompson expressing his disapproval of her recent actions regarding changes to credit-reporting requirements. “As the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), I am sure you are aware that the mission of the FHFA is to, ‘ensure the regulated entities fulfill their mission by operating in a safe and sound manner’…” Rep.

Rep. Luetkemeyer Responds to Misguided Credit Card Competition Act
Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement regarding H.R. 8874, the Credit Card Competition Act. “When a large retailer experiences a data breach, thousands of credit cards must be reissued and hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars in fraudulent charges must be repaid to consumers. Interchange fees cover those expenses. An attempt to eliminate interchange fees is an attempt to eliminate those services.

Blaine's Bulletin: Biden Administration Student Loan Update
I’m sure you remember President Biden’s summer announcement that he plans to cancel student debt for thousands of Americans. While student loan forgiveness had been discussed for several months, the announcement was somewhat of a surprise because it was widely believed that doing so was not constitutional. In my Sept.
Blaine's Bulletin: 75th Anniversary of Toys for Tots
If you take a look around, there’s no doubt that Christmas time is here. Trees, wreaths and lights are going up all across Missouri and people’s moods are noticeably cheerier now that the holiday season is upon us. This is the season of giving, which can come in many different forms. Maybe that means contributing to the Salvation Army when you walk by one of their red buckets with a bell ringer braving the cold for a good cause.
Blaine's Bulletin: Small Business Saturday 2022
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We were fortunate to have a great day filled with a lot of family time and too much food. Now that we have given thanks, Christmas will be here before we know it. It seems that everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit a little bit earlier than usual this year which is just fine with me. After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year.
Blaine's Bulletin: Thanksgiving 2022
If the early in the season snow wasn’t enough of an indication, the holiday season is here. Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and I am looking forward to a day filled with good food, football, and family. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year and about as wholesome as a holiday can get. It’s a holiday completely focused on spending time with family and loved ones and reflecting on all we have to be thankful for. Not to mention the best meal of the year.
Blaine's Bulletin: Veterans Day 2022
On Tuesday, Nov. 8, I was honored to be elected to represent you in Congress for two more years. Serving you and your families is the professional honor of my lifetime, and I pledge to do everything I can to make life here in Missouri the best it can be. We’re so fortunate to live in a country where our citizens have a voice in our elections and we get to live in freedom.
Blaine's Bulletin: Manufacturing and Apprenticeships
Missouri’s manufacturing industry is one of the top in the nation and plays an important role in our state’s economy and labor force. Having just wrapped up National Manufacturing Month and heading into National Apprenticeship Week, this is a perfect moment to recognize the importance of both manufacturing and apprenticeships in our state. Part of the reason our state’s manufacturing industry is able to thrive is thanks to our strong apprenticeship force.
Blaine's Bulletin: The 100th Greater St. Louis Honor Flight
Typically, my goal in these columns is to update you on what’s going on in Congress and around our district. There’s rarely a shortage of things to talk about when it comes to D.C. Our nation’s capital is home to the halls of Congress, the White House and our President, the United States Supreme Court and a whole lot of lawmaking. Beyond the policies that are made there, the city is also home to our national monuments that Americans from far and wide travel to see.

Blaine's Bulletin: Getting Our Economy Back on Track
I know it’s only October, but the holiday season will be here before we know it. Unfortunately, the way things are trending show this holiday season will be another expensive one. This week, Bloomberg Economics model projection found that there is a 100% chance of a recession in the next year.
Blaine's Bulletin:
The October district work period is well underway, and I have been making the rounds across the Third District. Hearing from you directly is the most valuable insight I can have as your Representative, and I always enjoy getting to see familiar Missouri faces and meet new ones while I’m here. Fortunately, this district work period has allowed me to meet with many of you and several businesses in our area so far.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03), Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions released a statement regarding the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit’s Wednesday ruling that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) independent funding through the Federal Reserve violates the Constitution’s separation of powers clause.

Blaine's Bulletin: Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2022
Chances are most of us unfortunately know someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Second only to skin cancer, it is the most common form of cancer found in American women. In 2022, the American Cancer Society estimates we will lose 43,250 women to breast cancer. These are mothers, grandmothers, daughters, nieces, aunts and friends who will leave us far too soon. Further, there is a one in eight chance that the average American woman will develop breast cancer at some point in their life.
Blaine's Bulletin: The Commitment to America
Recently, House Republicans under Leader Kevin McCarthy’s leadership unveiled our “Commitment to America” initiative. Should Republicans regain control of the House, this is the roadmap for what we plan to do to get our country back on track and thriving. “A nation that’s safe” is one of the most important tenants of our Commitment to America. This is the greatest country in the world, and every American citizen has the right to feel safe living here.
Blaine's Bulletin: Ensuring Small Business Owners Are Heard
As the Third District has known for quite some time now, the pandemic is in our rear-view mirror. Businesses are serving their customers, children aren’t being forced to learn through a computer, and life has gone back to as normal as it can be with the economic headwinds we’re facing. Even President Biden admitted “the pandemic is over” in his 60 Minutes interview last week – much to the dismay of his staff.

Student loan debt “cancellation”
By Blaine Luetkemeyer, 3rd District Congressman Affordability should never stand in the way of American students’ ability to receive the highest education possible. There’s a reason our country is called the “Land of Opportunity.” Especially in today’s highly competitive and global economy, it’s essential we create new opportunities for students. As the father of three children and grandfather of seven, I know first-hand the important role education plays today.
Blaine's Bulletin: August District Work Period
The August district work period is in full swing, and over the last couple of weeks I’ve had a lot of productive visits around the Third District. This is important time I get to spend meeting with constituents and businesses to check in and hear how things are going. Here are just a few highlights. Due to our abundance of farms and ranches and with one of our top commodities being soybeans, Missouri is a leader in the biodiesel industry, consistently ranking in the top three in the country.

Blaine's Bulletin: One Year Since Our Afghanistan Withdrawal
Monday, Aug. 15 marked the one-year anniversary of one of the biggest foreign policy failures in our nation’s history: our rushed withdrawal from Afghanistan. Regardless of politics, I think most Americans could agree we shouldn’t stay in Afghanistan forever. But the manner in which we withdrew was completely reckless and had devastating consequences. In the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, the United States Military spent 20 years – two decades – in Afghanistan.

Regardless of politics, I think most Americans could agree we shouldn’t stay in Afghanistan forever. But the manner in which we withdrew was completely reckless and had devastating consequences.
Blaine's Bulletin: So-Called “Inflation Reduction Act”
Nobody of sane mind would throw gasoline on a burning house. You hopefully wouldn’t drive past a drowning swimmer in your boat. And you probably wouldn’t pour salt on a paper cut. That is true for pretty much everyone in Missouri. The same can’t be said for Washington, D.C. Today, the House will vote on the so-called Inflation Reduction Act which is the bill the Senate passed on Monday that could devastate our economy even further.
Blaine's Bulletin: We Will Not Be Bullied by China
On February 24th of this year, Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine completely unprovoked and has taken countless lives since. He has been relentless in his quest for control of his neighboring sovereign nation, with Russian soldiers continuing to conduct missile strikes taking the lives of men, women and children almost daily. The situation with Ukraine is a complex one, but one thing the free world can all agree on is Putin is a dangerous maniac whose actions should not be tolerated.

Blaine's Bulletin: The INDEX Act
There is an alarming trend taking place in our country. Political agendas, specifically climate change, are seeping into areas that have absolutely nothing to do with them. Environmental Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) refers to pressure from progressives on corporate America to take positions on political and social issues that should have no bearing on their business. ESG is nothing more than a fabricated metric from the far-Left that is now being used as a fear tactic in corporate America.
Blaine's Bulletin: Ensuring Ag Producers Have the Tools They Need
Farming is one of the most rewarding (and the most essential) industries there is. If all goes right, the hard work you put into your land in the middle of America becomes food for the world. In Missouri 27.8 million acres – 2/3 of our state – is farmland, much of which are family farms that sometimes go back several generations. Our $93.7 billion ag industry employs almost 460,000 Missourians, providing good jobs and supporting the Missouri and American economies.
Three ways small businesses can drive our economic recovery
A lot can change in 40 years. In 1981, America was making the transition from rotary phones to the newer, high tech "push-button" phone. The Oldsmobile Cutlass was the best-selling car that year. And NASA sent the first reusable spacecraft into orbit from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with a crew of veteran astronauts. 2022 is a different story.

Blaine's Bulletin: Inflation is a Tax on All Americans
The year was 1981. Sandra Day O’Connor was confirmed as the first woman to ever serve on the United States Supreme Court. Almost a billion viewers around the world tuned in to watch Prince Charles marry Lady Diana Spencer. The Iran Hostage Crisis ended with the American hostages being freed after 444 days. And MTV was launched to the delight of teenagers across the nation. Life was very different in this country 40 years ago than in 2022, but one thing was similar: high inflation.
Blaine's Bulletin: Fourth of July District Work Period
I hope you and your families were able to enjoy one of the many Fourth of July celebrations around the Third District last week. There was a lot of fun to be had. We had a great weekend filled with baseball, parades, fireworks, and of course barbeque, which is an Independence Day must for my family. Fourth of July is also a scheduled district work period for Congress allowing me the opportunity to catch up with constituents. Here are just a few highlights from my travels.
Biden's SBA continues to fail small businesses with fraud, delays, and mismanagement
If the past year and a half has shown us anything, it is that Democrats cannot govern effectively or responsibly. Their ill-advised agenda of reckless spending and radical policymaking has left American families and small businesses at a loss. Americans are focused on the issues impacting them daily, yet this administration has their priorities backwards and its agencies are showing this regularly.
