Azzi Fudd‘s rookie season with the Dallas Wings has been a little bit of a roller coaster. Unfortunately, it has come to an end after it was announced that she would be having season-ending knee surgery. Fudd will undergo an arthroscopic knee procedure next week in Connecticut. She famously played college ball in the state for the UConn Huskies from 2021 through 2026. She played all but her final season with her girlfriend and current Wings teammate Paige Bueckers.

The 12th edition of the biennial Bingham Cup begins Thursday, featuring teams from more than 30 gay and inclusive rugby clubs from all over the world. Named after 9/11 hero Mark Bingham, it’s the most important occasion in the IGR (International Gay Rugby) calendar. Brisbane Hustlers are this year’s host club, and Les Gaillards Parisiens are the defending champions. Women’s teams will contest the Amanda Mark Cup.
