The San Francisco Giants could have ended the nationwide conversation about the team’s Pride Night debacle in 48 hours. Team executives like Larry Baer and Buster Postey, as well as team manager Tony Vitello, could have told Giants fans and the local SF LGBTQ community that they messed up, they could have taken responsibility, and they could have mapped out a path forward. They could have apologized for the anti-gay demonstration on the field for the team’s June 12 Pride Night. Together.
