Every year, millions of tourists from all over the world flock to Spain, and many of them won’t leave without visiting the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona. The bustling city is loved for its unique Gaudi architecture, its lively Las Ramblas boulevard, its stunning beach, and, of course, the incredible food. Barcelona is one of the best foodie destinations in Europe, and amongst the meat-, cheese-, and seafood-heavy offerings, you can expect to find plenty of delicious plant-based options.

After a couple of years of pandemic passivity, I was getting antsy and had to hit the road. It’s been a real eye-opener for me—the scene everywhere has been transformed, with many restaurants around the world shuttering for good, and many more reinventing themselves with new dishes and inventive approaches. There’s a real sense of accelerating innovation in vegan dining, and it’s happening everywhere in different ways.
