ALLENTOWN, Pa. - For the second time before noon, the Woodlawn Fire Company is on the move to a fire call. With near 90 degree temps the heat is on. "Today we were in the city of Allentown for, you know, a fire and guys were coming out and automatically taking off their jackets, even their socks. We were putting our cooling rags over their necks and giving them bottles of water," firefighter Andrea Search explained. Bottled water and sports drinks become liquid gold, says firefighter Andrea Search.

SOUTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- An employee with the developer proposing a massive data center in South Whitehall Township is no longer with the company, following a social media firestorm over text messages he was seen sending during a recent meeting that community members say were degrading. Those text messages also referred to attempts to involve state legislators and local business leaders.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the state's $50.8 billion budget into law Sunday. The budget includes more than $920 million in new funding for public education. The centerpiece is $565 million in new "adequacy" funding. Even with the boost in funds, some districts say it's not enough, and the roll out of that ruling needs to happen faster.
