I-78 crash ties up traffic, at least 2 injured
HELLERTOWN, Pa. - A crash on I-78 near Hellertown, Northampton County slowed traffic Wednesday morning. It happened near mile marker 68 just before 5 a.m. County dispatchers said two vehicles were involved and at least two people were injured, with one being taken to the hospital. No word on what may have led up to the crash. Pennsylvania State Police said they were not able to comment on the crash at this time.

'It's a shame': Neighbors say speeding, red-light running make Bethlehem intersection dangerous
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Neighbors living near the scene of a deadly crash in Bethlehem say the intersection where it happened has been an ongoing nightmare. The area has been the scene of two deadly crashes just this summer. The latest came Monday when a driver ran a red light, and hit and killed a man in the crosswalk. Roadside memorials in the area stand for one of two people killed on this exact street back in June, as well as the victim of Monday night's crash.
Reading’s public works opposes proposal to get cars off emergency routes for 3 or more inches of snow
READING, Pa. – Reading City Council at its Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday discussed a proposal to revise the city’s snow emergency plan, which received less-than-favorable feedback from the city’s public works director. Up for consideration is a proposed requirement for vehicles to be removed from the streets designated as snow emergency routes whenever 3 or more inches of snow are predicted. The idea would be to allow the city to plow the streets curb to curb.
NFL Hall of Famer unveils new 'Read with Reed' space at Olivet Boys & Girls Club
READING, Pa. – Andre Reed has spent years being recognized for what he accomplished on the football field. Tuesday, though, he wasn't at the Olivet Boys & Girls Club on Clinton Street to talk about football. Instead, he was giving kids a place to read, learn, and dream big. "Reading is fundamental, reading is knowledge, reading is power," Reed said. The Andre Reed Foundation unveiled a brand-new reading space at Olivet.
Montgomery County distributes thousands of school supply donations
POTTSTOWN, Pa. – Leaders in Pottstown, Montgomery County, made sure students are stocked up for the school year. County commissioners helped distribute thousands of school supplies to families and schools in the district Items were collected as part of Montgomery County’s annual back-to-school donation drive. 63-year-old Lebanon County woman loses nearly $400K in reported 'romance scam'
LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after a 63-year-old Lebanon County woman lost about $400,000 in a reported online romance scam involving someone claiming to be an up-and-coming country music star. Trooper Ethan Brownback said the woman met the person on TikTok earlier this year before their conversations moved to the messaging app Telegram.
BASD board approves fact-finder’s recommendations in Teamsters contract dispute
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In a special meeting, the Bethlehem Area School District Board of School Directors on Tuesday approved a fact-finder’s recommendations regarding the district’s contract dispute with Teamsters Local 773. The recommendations were issued by fact-finder Barbara Lichtman in her final report on Aug. 31 and concern the bargaining dispute between the district and the union, which represents the district’s clerical and secretarial employees.
