Tilapia
In Matthew 4:18–21, we read where Peter was working on the Sea of Galilee (Lake of Gennesaret)1 with his fishing business partners when Jesus called him for the Gospel. Also, James and John were mending their fishing nets. After the Resurrection of Jesus and before the blessing of the Holy Spirit, the disciples commenced fishing again. Jesus appeared to them and they ate fish together (John 21:10–14). What was this fish that was so popular that they could make a business from catching?
Living in a Simulation, and the Basis of Truth
Saddle up and ride to the top of the hill for the big picture, useful when atheists make assertions. They often claim that they believe in reality because they deny the existence of God; they are materialists and matter is all that exists. That is their definition of reality. Something simple that this child learned long ago is to ask pertinent questions, including, "How do you know?" Note that many of their assertions are arbitrary.
Question Evolution Day and Marketing Darwin
Probably everyone that watches television has seen advertisements for food, but the product purchased is disappointingly different. Marketing people have techniques to make stuff look good, and they put a great deal of time and effort into creating an image that is far different from reality. Charles Darwin had a mediocre theology degree but nothing in science. He did not make a great discovery about evolution and then tell the world.
The 2024 Solar Eclipse and Divine Judgment
Posts and articles here will be sporadic for a few days or weeks until things get more under control. People are totally (heh!) excited about the February 8, 2024 solar eclipse, even more so than they were in 2017. Scientists can make observations, make predictions, test equipment, and so on. I'm happy for them. This one will be a bit different than the last one. It is not just for scientists, either.
Clothes Laid Out and Waiting
by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Go down the short hallway, past the bathroom, through the open door of the bedroom. Look behind the door. You see several things such as mostly unused crutches from my knee surgery, a clothes drying rack, two 3-drawer plastic storage units, and more. On top of a storage unit are a pair of pants, a shirt, and shoes. Unpretentious clothes. Charlene had efficiently laid them out so she could use them when she returned from her surgery. She is not coming back for them. Ever.
Weaponizing the Peer Review Process Backfires
Weaponizing the Peer Review Process Backfires As we have discussed numerous times, people think that if a paper has passed the peer review process, it is a guarantee of truth (an appeal to authority). They use that idea as a weapon to promote evolution and atheism. Of course, most people do not actually read peer-reviewed scientific papers. They are often behind an expensive paywall, too.
Canceling Women?
In U.S. Supreme Court hearings, Kaiju — I mean, Ketanji — Brown Jackson claimed to be unable to answer "What is a woman" because she is not a biologist. Well, I am not a biologist, medical doctor, or whatever, and I know a woman when I encounter one. But it is becoming more difficult nowadays. While atheists and evolutionists like to call those of us who deny and refute fish-to-fool evolution as "science deniers", those who say that people can have their genders changed are science deniers.
Streaming HPC: An Emerging Model for Delivering HPC Capability?
The HPC sector is on the cusp of yet another change in the way it does business, except this time the pendulum is swinging away from HPC vendors having the upper hand in choosing the products they deliver towards HPC users who define their workloads and then assemble the vendor-agnostic hardware and software they need to get the job done.
Evolutionists Offended by Word Choices
By Cowboy Bob Sorensen There are arguments that evolutionists should not use[1], and a different way to supplement this is how some make false arguments about word choices. Many items will be referenced below, but this child is not endorsing them. Misotheists and other evolutionists feign outrage about the words we use, but those are disingenuous at best. These objections serve as red herrings, distracting from the points being made.

Rethinking HPC Platforms for 'Second Gen' Applications
Just what constitutes HPC and how best to support it is a keen topic currently. A new paper posted last week on arXiv.org – Rethinking HPC Platforms: Challenges, Opportunities and Recommendations – by researchers from the University of Edinburgh and University of St. Andrews suggests the emergence of “second generation” HPC applications (and users) requires a new approach to supporting infrastructure that draws on container-like technology and services.

Making Money From End of the World Fears:Why Unbelievers Hate Christians by Cowboy Bob Sorensen Some of the material here will be outdated very quickly. However, the principles will be distressingly relevant for quite some time. Also, this is not my primary Weblog, so it is not updated all that often.
