CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - With a Tri-State police chief awaiting extradition from Florida on 70 felony charges, FOX19 NOW legal analyst Mark Krumbein explained what happens next. Chad Essert, 44, of Blanchester, was arrested and indicted Thursday on 56 counts of sexual battery and 14 counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, according to Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Tekulve. The offenses allegedly occurred more than 15 years ago in Loveland.

Cincinnati man sentenced to at least 25 years in East Walnut Hills killing

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A Cincinnati man has been sentenced to at least 25 years after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping and several other crimes. Hamilton County prosecutors say 19-year-old Ajani Grimes shot 47-year-old Laura Schueler in the back of the head when she tried to run away from him on June 7, 2025, in East Walnut Hills. Grimes cut an ankle monitor off in the months before the attack. He was out on bond for felonious assault and armed robbery.

Ramp closures and detours cause headaches as Brent Spence Bridge gets underway

COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) - The Brent Spence Bridge Project closed its first major ramps to Interstate 71 Monday. While drivers are feeling the closures, the detours are causing headaches for Covington residents. The southbound on-ramp from 12th Street and the off-ramp from MLK Boulevard are both closed, and traffic is being rerouted to smaller streets like Philadelphia Street in Covington, where big impacts are going to be felt. “I encourage people to pack patience.
