Happy Friday! Morning temperatures are up a few degrees compared to yesterday, continuing the trend we’ve seen most of the week. Another day of sunshine is in store with high temperatures close to 90°, with a bit more of a breeze compared to Thursday. Hurricane Isaias is strengthening this morning and should make landfall near the Mississippi-Florida line the evening, then continue north northwest through tomorrow morning before turning eastward. It could be near category 3 strength.

Good Thursday morning! Sunshine and near record high temperatures are in store for the next couple of days with afternoon readings around 90°. The average high is 73°, and we'll be near a record high instead. Hurricane Isaias in the gulf is expected to make landfall late Saturday somewhere near the Louisiana Mississippi line, then move north to northeast. The forecast track of Isaias will be a bit too far east for any good rain.

Happy Friday! A cold front has cleared the Ozarks and has moved into western Tennessee through central Arkansas into northern Texas. Rain developed overnight north of the boundary and will continue this morning over Arkansas and far southern Missouri. Unfortunately, the rain did not stretch as far north as expected, but at least some places are getting some moisture. Clearing will gradually develop from north to south today, with sunshine reappearing in Springfield by midafternoon.
