April 22, 2026, 4:49 p.m. CT A teenager from Cedar Rapids is allegedly responsible for a mass shooting in Iowa City. Iowa City Police Department police chief Dustin Liston said a 17-year-old male allegedly fired a gun six times into a crowd of people at the Pedestrian Mall, injuring five people over the weekend. The male has been charged with five counts of attempted murder and will be tried as an adult, according to the Johnson County Attorney's Office.
