Brennan Prill joined WOOD TV8 in May of 2021 as an Assignment Editor and Storm Team 8 Chaser.

A Michigan native, Brennan grew up in Lowell, Mich. just outside of Grand Rapids where he attended Lowell High School.

Prior to Brennan’s first job in news he worked for Apple as a creative and technology advisor. He also assisted production crews in Los Angeles, CA, on movie lots and award shows from 2016-2020.

Police identify man killed in shooting near Grand Rapids bar

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police have released the identity of the man killed in a Grand Rapids shooting Thursday. The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) says 39-year-old Laeveil Walker was shot and killed near My Place Bar early in the morning. We’re told another person was seriously hurt in the shooting. A suspect description has not yet been made available. The shooting remains under investigation.

1 killed, 1 hurt after shooting in busy neighborhood

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A shooting in a busy Grand Rapids neighborhood left one person dead, another seriously hurt. Police tell FOX 17 they heard several shots just after 12:15 this morning. They found one person unresponsive near Division and Fair St SE and learned of another victim who went to the hospital on their own. Despite life-saving measures, the person at the scene died soon after. The person at the hospital suffered 'several' gun shot wounds according to GRPD.

Man hit by car while fleeing deputies on US-31

SPRING LAKE TWP. — A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car Saturday evening on US-31 near Ferrysburg. It happened at 6:54 p.m. Feb. 4 on northbound US-31 near Van Wagoner Road in Spring Lake Township. The 26-year-old Norton Shores man fled from deputies after they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. After crossing the median, the man was hit by a car traveling southbound on US-31.
