(FOX40.COM) — A Nevada man arrested last month for an allegedly battering his partner in what Sacramento’s top prosecutor called a “horrific, violent case” returned to court Wednesday, where he now faces three new charges. Ricardo Gonzalez Gurrola, 32, is now charged with attempted murder in addition to aggravated mayhem, resisting arrest and injuring his domestic partner. Sacramento County prosecutors also added two other new charges, felony assault on a peace officer and misdemeanor battery.

Thousands must retake DMV test — or lose license — after ‘anomalies’ discovered

(FOX40.COM) — Thousands of California drivers need to retake their written knowledge tests, the DMV says, or their licenses will be canceled. The shocking move comes after the California Department of Motor Vehicles identified “anomalies” in the results of certain tests, the agency confirmed. About 11,000 people are being notified that they must return to the DMV and retake the written test “within 30 days,” the department said in a statement.
