Veteran Huntsville attorney Roy Miller dies at 84, represented Amy Bishop Original

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Roy Miller, whose legal career spanned more than 50 years and included serving as UAH shooter Amy Bishop’s lead attorney, died Wednesday at the age of 84. Miller was born in Boaz, the son of cotton farmers, and began working as a biology teacher before turning to the law. He graduated from Cumberland School of Law and began work as an attorney. He was well-suited to the work, Madison County District Attorney Rob Broussard told News 19. “Roy was an original,” Broussard said.

Driver charged in Hartselle crash wants pause in lawsuit, plaintiffs want to move forward against Priceville and police officer

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — The deadly September crash in Hartselle that followed a police chase from Priceville led to two lawsuits, so far, being filed on behalf of those injured or killed. But the man charged in the crash, Archie Hale, is arguing that those lawsuits need to slow down. Tristan Hollis was killed in the crash, and three other teens, Braxton Wales, Noah Prater and Gavin Prater were injured.

Dumas Disappearance: Police investigation continues, complicated by two-state pursuit Original

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — In February, there was a major break in the Ronald Dumas Jr. case, with the Huntsville Police Department announcing he was abducted and five suspects were wanted. News 19 has learned that early on, police had a strong sense of what happened, but the trail has not been simple to follow. The five named were Sabrina Rochelle Chambers, Quintarius Shikelion White, Toure Laron McLaurin, Kierra Symone Clark and Carissa Cash.
