It appears that almost every grocery store offers “rewards” via reduced prices for “members.” I have been shopping at a major establishment since the day it opened. I really like the store as it rarely changes product locations, the employees are friendly and helpful and the product lines are top of the line. What has me discontinue shopping there is the fact that if I refrain from becoming a “member,” I am forced to pay as much as double the price for “members only” items.

I recently watched some folks exercise their First Amendment rights to peaceful demonstration while waving their signs and changing their displeasure with President Trump and the situation in Iran. I don’t know if they were aware that they were about 1,000 feet from what we locals call the Hostage Rock Memorial. I am not sure that the protesters were here in West Point at the time or were old enough to know.

This is about right and wrong. We all have a sense of the difference between the two. Even criminals know. Your political ideology does not come into the equation. What we all want from our government is that the politicians do not squander our tax dollars. That criminals – be they the garden variety or those with oodles of money with which they can buy the equally corrupt criminal politicians – should go directly to jail.
