As much as I love to cook with fresh tomatoes, I haven’t exactly mastered the art of using the whole thing before it’s beyond saving. It didn’t help that until recently, I kept whole tomatoes in the produce drawer of my refrigerator — turns out, they’re best stored on the counter at room temperature. That new knowledge made me change my bad habit and look into better storage methods that extend their shelf lives without keeping them hidden for so long that I’d forget about them.
