Brook Benten
Brook Benten’s Biography
Executive Director of Healthy Living, workout DVD star, writer, author, podcaster, choreographer, fitness model, traveler, trail runner, triathlete, life coach, ACSM exercise physiologist, kettlebell expert, fitness director, hospitality executive, campus recreation assistant director, educator, public speaker with film and television experience: the kaleidoscope of Brook Benten's work. She calls herself the "Blossom" of the fitness industry (because she's worn a lot of hats!).
Brook tells stories, written and video, from heart and experience as a subject matter expert. She has never used ChatGPT. She shares authentic stories from a vulnerable and raw viewpoint. She doesn't get botox, rarely wears makeup, and seldom looks as glamorous as this profile picture. Her unfiltered delivery and physical appearance with signature sports bra and sweaty brow attract the tribe she intends to reach. (That audience is the person at home who needs a guiding light that they can do it.)
Brook began her fitness career in 1999 as a Step Aerobics instructor. To date, she has starred in over three dozen workout videos. She earned a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science and M.Ed. in Physical Education with emphasis in Sport and Fitness Administration. The F.I.T. Company Institute awarded Brook "Austin's Fittest Fitness Professional." She has authored three books: "Lift Light, Get Lean" (Hearst, 2023), "SWEAT with Brook Benten" (Cardiopump Fitness, 2024) and "10 Minutes to Slim and Sober" (Cardiopump Fitness, 2025). She currently freelance writes and personal trains + life coaches clients. Brook's husband and she are raising three young children: Hayes, Julie Anna and Ernie. Ernie is a dog.
