Newspaper reporter at the Grand Forks Herald in Grand Forks, North Dakota. A long way from my hometown of Queens, New York.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
It's how I taught myself to type.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To move beyond what so-and-so said and provide meaningful context wherever it exists.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter. You can't beat the immediacy and the virtual, worldwide conversation among some of the brightest people out there. Ignore the noise.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, but I was editor of my college newspaper.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Read everything. Find what you love. Stay curious.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
