Supervised classifications of Landsat 8 and Sentinel 2 images were performed on the GEE platform, yielding Kappa coefficients of 0.89 and 0.91, respectively. The classification data were analyzed, and marsh wetlands were extracted, as shown in Fig. 3. The extraction results from the two images show that the total area of alpine marsh wetlands in western Sichuan is 17,438.97 and 17,454.56 km2, with a difference of 15.60 km2.
