Association of sleep duration and hypertension in Older Adults: a cross-sectional study
Abstract Objective: Sleep duration, a modifiable lifestyle factor, has been variably associated with blood pressure regulation, yet evidence among the oldest-old populations remains limited and inconsistent. This study aims to investigate the association between self-reported sleep duration and hypertension in a large cohort of Chinese older adults. Methods: We analyzed cross-sectional data from the 2008 wave of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS).

Decorated high-dispersity Fe(OH)3 nanoparticles on NiZn LDH nanosheets towards enhanced alkaline oxygen evolution reaction
Decorated high-dispersity Fe(OH)3 nanoparticles on NiZn LDH nanosheets towards enhanced alkaline oxygen evolution reaction The creation of efficient, earth-abundant electrocatalysts is crucial to address the sluggish kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this study, a straightforward immersion technique is employed to fabricate a NiZnFex LDH composite by embedding Fe(OH)3 nanoparticles onto NiZn LDH nanosheets.

Atomically resolved imaging of radiation-sensitive metal-organic frameworks via electron ptychography - Nature Communications
Abstract Electron ptychography, recognized as an ideal technique for low-dose imaging, consistently achieves deep sub-angstrom resolution at electron doses of several thousand electrons per square angstrom (e−/Å2) or higher. Despite its proven efficacy, the application of electron ptychography at even lower doses—necessary for materials highly sensitive to electron beams—raises questions regarding its feasibility and the attainable resolution under such stringent conditions.
Unraveling Various Stacking Modes and Local Structures in Poly(triazine imide) Materials via Low-Dose Electron Microscopy
1. Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Poly(triazine-imide) (PTI) is a crystalline graphitic carbon nitride material featuring a two-dimensional (2D) layered structure. Each layer consists of triazine units interconnected via imide bonds, with adjacent layers rotated 180° relative to one another, adhering to an AA’-stacking mode. (1−4) Salts used in the synthetic system, such as LiCl, are usually incorporated in the resultant PTI materials as intercalated ions.
Zeolite membrane with sub-nanofluidic channels for superior blue energy harvesting - Nature Communications
Abstract Blue energy, a clean energy source derived from salinity gradients, has recently drawn increased research attention. It can be harvested using charged membranes, typically composed of amorphous materials that suffer from low power density due to their disordered structure and low charge density. Crystalline materials, with inherently ordered porous structures, offer a promising alternative for overcoming these limitations.
Diamine chelates for increased stability in mixed Sn–Pb and all-perovskite tandem solar cells - Nature Energy
|
Abstract Perovskite tandem solar cells show promising performance, but non-radiative recombination and its progressive worsening with time, especially in the mixed Sn–Pb low-bandgap layer, limit performance and stability. Here we find that mixed Sn–Pb perovskite thin films exhibit a compositional gradient, with an excess of Sn on the surface—and we show this gradient exacerbates oxidation and increases the recombination rate.

Strategies for high-temperature methyl iodide capture in azolate-based metal-organic frameworks - Nature Communications
Abstract Efficiently capturing radioactive methyl iodide (CH3I), present at low concentrations in the high-temperature off-gas of nuclear facilities, poses a significant challenge. Here we present two strategies for CH3I adsorption at elevated temperatures using a unified azolate-based metal-organic framework, MFU-4l. The primary strategy leverages counter anions in MFU-4l as nucleophiles, engaging in metathesis reactions with CH3I.

Anisotropic flexibility and rigidification in a TPE-based Zr-MOFs with scu topology - Nature Communications
Abstract Tetraphenylethylene (TPE)-based ligands are appealing for constructing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with new functions and responsiveness. Here, we report a non-interpenetrated TPE-based scu Zr-MOF with anisotropic flexibility, that is, Zr-TCPE (H4TCPE = 1,1,2,2-tetra(4-carboxylphenyl)ethylene), remaining two anisotropic pockets. The framework flexibility is further anisotropically rigidified by installing linkers individually at specific pockets.

Eliminating lattice defects in metal–organic framework molecular-sieving membranes - Nature Materials
Abstract Metal–organic framework (MOF) membranes are energy-efficient candidates for molecular separations, but it remains a considerable challenge to eliminate defects at the atomic scale. The enlargement of pores due to defects reduces the molecular-sieving performance in separations and hampers the wider application of MOF membranes, especially for liquid separations, owing to insufficient stability.

Its linker vacancy sites are restored by post-synthetic linker insertion, which notably enhances its separation performance toward alkane isomers. Abstract Discrimination of physically similar molecules by porous solids represents an important yet challenging task in industrially relevant chemical separations.
