A NSW family owes their son’s life to their loyal staffy after the dog jumped into a dam when she realised the toddler was in trouble. Alex Kenney, 2, was playing on his family’s property at Nana Glen, near Coffs Harbour, when he fell into the dam, got into trouble and started floating face down. Leala, the family’s nine-year-old staffy, jumped in after him but wasn’t able to bring him to shore. So she ran up to the house sopping wet, which alerted Alex’s father, David.
