Malia Bouattia is currently the National Union of Students’ Black Student’s Officer and is campaigning to become the NUS President. She has the backing of current NUS Vice President Shelly Asquith and her campaign looks in a good position ahead of the election at the NUS Conference in Brighton later this month. If she wins, she’ll be the voice of students across the country. She’ll be the voice of the NUS, whose mission statement says: “We promote, defend and extend student rights.

Six young people have died in York’s rivers in the past two years. Something has to change Since 2014, Ethan Peters, Chris Palmer, Stephen Fry, Megan Roberts, Tyler Pearson, Ben Clarkson have all died in the city’s rivers. Every single one, is one too many. Following the most recent death of Ethan Peters, something has to change. We want to make the city safer: sign this petition if you agree.

In honour of the sadly imminent destruction of the infamous Richardson Road halls at the end of this year, The Tab will be featuring a ‘Ricky Road Week’ as an ode to our favourite, fun-filled dump. As a place of true character, Ricky has seen some unbelievable parties, pranks and general mischief since its construction back in the Seventies.
