Will you trust God in the darkness? In the places that don’t make any sense and feel so fearful. At times when it feels impossible. Will you trust Him then? It’s easy to speak of faith when everything is going great in our lives. Faith is comfortable when we can see the plan and understand the way. But it gets harder when we are surrounded by darkness and can’t even see the next step. When we move forward, believing God’s got us, even when we can’t see the next step, that’s faith.

The enemy wants us to try harder. To set ourselves on fire and try to do things beyond our abilities, so we will feel hopeless. He wants us exhausted and discouraged. But what if the answer isn’t to try harder in ourselves, but to walk closer to God? The closer we walk with God, the quicker we recognize the enemy’s lies and replace them with God’s truth. The more truth we know and understand, the harder it is for us to believe the lies.

How often do we believe that we can’t do something, when the reality is that we won’t? Can’t is a tricky word. It is filled with excuses and limitations. If we believe we can’t do something, we most often won’t even try. In the moment when the thing arises, we accept defeat without effort. And every time we accept defeat, without trying, we make our world smaller. I’ve lived this. For months, I stayed home. I kept the same routine. Every day looked like a replica of the previous day.
