While people have largely moved on from the initial controversy that Diablo Immortal generated, I wouldn’t exactly call it my favorite entry in the series. I’ll still stand by my initial feelings that there are better things to spend cash on instead of Diablo Immortal, but it’s softened somewhat. I’d very much still play Diablo III over Diablo Immortal, especially since a single-player iteration of the game is available on Nintendo Switch.

The ’90s and early aughts were a hell of a time in PC gaming. Banger after banger after banger came out. I don’t need to list them out; y’all know it. The long shadows they cast still overshadow the modern gaming zeitgeist, and many of their successors still struggle to meet the high standards they set. It was an amazing time to grow up in that era. The kids these days seriously missed out. One such game they missed out on was Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Perfection in a box.

If I had to choose two words that explain why I love gaming so much, they would have to be Zealots and Paladins. I didn’t learn these words from school, you know. I learned them from Blizzard. Zealots were the first combat unit available to the Protoss in Starcraft, and while Paladins were in Warcraft 2, it was Diablo 2’s iteration that’s so firmly ingrained in the core memories of my youth, my gamer identity, and playstyle.
