Have you been there before? Decoding recognition of spatial scenes from fMRI signals in precuneus
1 INTRODUCTION In our daily life, we constantly process our surrounding environment and look for familiar locations. Recognition is a fundamental property of human memory (Brown & Aggleton, 2001) and refers to the identification of a previously experienced stimulus (Mandler, 1980).
Neural Correlates of Different Randomization Tasks
Abstract In some cases, when we are making decisions, the available choices can appear to be equivalent. When this happens, our choices appear not to be constrained by external factors and instead we can believe to be selecting "randomly". Furthermore, randomness is sometimes even explicitly required by task conditions such as in random sequence generation (RSG) tasks.
Encoding of continuous perceptual choices in human early visual cortex

The brain-computer duel: Do we have free will?
The background to this new set of experiments lies in the debate regarding conscious will and determinism in human decision-making, which has attracted researchers, psychologists, philosophers and the general public, and which has been ongoing since at least the 1980s. Back then, the American researcher Benjamin Libet studied the nature of cerebral processes of study participants during conscious decision-making.
