Widespread storms Sunday Isolated Flash Flooding possible next several days Hot, drier conditions return next weekend SUNDAY: Scattered thunderstorms will develop early this afternoon in the mountains and then move onto the plains. Today’s storms will be capable of torrential rainfall, gusty wind, and frequent lightning. A couple of severe storms are possible. A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect from 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM for the Aspen Acres burn scar.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — Today’s Forecast: Following record heat yesterday, we're tracking more heat but also better chances for wetting rains - showers and thunderstorms - this afternoon. High pressure will shift south today after touring the Four Corners region over the last several days. The morning will be beautiful with plenty of sunshine and light winds. You'll notice light haze from wildfire smoke that is largely elevated above the ground and is not impacting air quality.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — Today’s Forecast: High pressure remains locked over the Four Corners region today, and you'll be feeling the HEAT this afternoon. Recycled moisture will lead to a chance for a few spotty mountain showers and storms, but the plains will stay mostly dry. If a storm does make it off the mountains, it's likely to produce mainly gusty wind instead of rain on the plains. Highs today will be near records. Colorado Springs forecast: High: 94; Low: 60.
