Jamie xx Cooks Up a Remix of Robyn’s “Dopamine”
The music world was buzzing last month when Robyn emerged with her first single in seven years, “Dopamine.” Now, the bees are buzzing again because the inimitable Jamie xx—who previously collaborated with Robyn on “Life” from his 2024 album In Waves—has shared his own rendition of the track. The producer gives the song a trance-leaning vibe, cooking up some melodic synth pads and adding layers of hazy ambiance to Robyn’s vocal line.
Robyn Shares “Dopamine,” First New Music Since 2018’s “Honey”
Robyn has returned with “Dopamine,” her first new solo single since the release of her 2018 LP Honey. Out now via Young, the track finds the singer teaming up with producer and frequent collaborator Klas Åhlund on an electrifying and bubbly electro-pop cut that features the singer trying to rescue herself from this era of over-optimization.

Oliver Sim | English | Metal Magazine
After a few hypnotic chords, in about 35 seconds, we could hear the unmistakable voice of Oliver Sim for the first time in 2018. It was quite mesmerising, it was one of those voices that seem to have been made to be listened to on big speakers. Together with Romy and Jamie they presented their first single, Crystalised. The xx began their musical career 14 years ago and have since become one of the United Kingdom's biggest bands. Today, Sim releases his first solo album, Hideous Bastard.

Beachside, purpose tends to rule in the form of flimsy, thonged flip-flops and too-small budgie-smugglers. Less is more, but should that really compromise style? Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu proves not with the second iteration of her swimwear capsule collection, Saint Dilara Beach Club.

Lily James on Her Very Favourite Things
AnOther Magazine’s S/S20 cover star Lily James shares her most-loved things – from her top beauty products, to her ideal ways to while away the hours February 24, 2020 Lily James is much more than an English rose. The actor, most famous for a litany of leading roles in period dramas, straddles generational appeal: she is as at ease as a teen pin-up as she is playing a beribboned, bonnet-clad aristocrat, a mobster’s love interest or Cinderella.

Craig Green reflects on Instagram haters, Skepta, and uniforms
Taken from autumn 2018 issue of Dazed. You can buy a copy of our latest issue here. When Moncler released the image of Craig Green’s shiny black strappy puffer outfit last year from their first joint capsule collection, it didn’t exactly go down well on social media. “They had thousands and thousands of comments and they were all hate comments,” Craig Green reminisces.

To accompany this cover story, Jonas Åkerlund has submitted his ten favourite black metal tracks, and exclusive behind the scenes stills he took on the set of Lords of Chaos. Musician Gaika on the Book That Taught Him Slaves Could Conquer Masters
“My parents are from the Black Power era and they had Frantz Fanon’s The Wretched of the Earth in our house. I read it when I was 13 or 14. For me, it crystallised something I’ve believed from a young age: that society isn’t right. I never felt OK about seeing a homeless person sleeping in the doorway of a giant glass bank and there was nothing my parents could say to help make sense of it. The Wretched of the Earth taught me I was right to feel this way, that it’s the effects of imperialism.
Yola Jimenez on Mexico’s Surrealist Spirit
“An anecdote about André Breton going to Mexico for the first time makes me laugh. In 1938, he was invited by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera to give a lecture on Surrealism. He was there for a while, and wanted to design a table for his lecture. So he drew the table he wanted, in perspective, and took it to a carpenter. The carpenter assured him that he’d have it done within the week.
Fashion Designer Andre Walker on the Power of Foundational Truths
“Right now I am really interested in foundational truths. I mean, last year was the year of post-truth. I feel like a lot of sensually experiential design ideals are giving a back seat to truth. I always love silk, or cotton. I like mostly natural fibres – because I see them as normal. I see them as a part of an undeniable truth. They’re also biodegradable. The devil is when you try to counterfeit nature. Do you know Vandana Shiva?
Nile Rodgers on Stormzy, Beating Cancer and Grenfell
Nile Rodgers should be exhausted. Yesterday, fresh off the plane from from London where he’d packed in a BRIT Awards appearance and countless hours in the booth, the music icon immediately threw himself into all-night session with a group of friends. As he picks up the phone to Another Man, the sexagenarian Chic legend has got barely three hours’ sleep inside him, and yet it sounds like he’s bouncing off the walls.
Actress Sonoya Mizuno on the Choreographer Who Changed the Way She Moved
“I used to be a dancer. I had classical training at London’s Royal Ballet School and my first job was with the Semperoper Dresden ballet company in Germany. The first programme they put on after I joined included Petite Mort by the Czech choreographer Jiří Kylián. I’d never seen it before, and was so struck by its perfect fusion of classical ballet and modern dance. I wasn’t performing but I watched the rehearsals and became obsessed with one of the principal dancers, Natalia Sologub.
Visionary Perfumer Frédéric Malle on the Decor in Visconti Films
“I grew up in a family which was close to the cinema. My uncle was a movie director and my father, a banker, was also his producer. I used to go to the movies two or three times every weekend and it’s the decor in those movies that has travelled with me ever since. In Visconti’s Conversation Piece, there’s an old scholar who owns a palazzo in Rome.
Dance Artist Johanna Constantine on the Text That Inspired Her
“An interview with the singer Diamanda Galas in the 1991 edition of RE/Search magazine titled Angry Women was key in my artistic development. I was young when I read it, and entrenched in the California punk scene where there was no clear path to a sustainable future or job. Role models were hard to come by. My political views and compulsive building habits signalled my artistic tendencies but I was under the impression that my ability should feel innate.
Malgosia Bela on the Perfume That Reminds Her of Her Childhood
“I grew up in Krakow, when Poland was a Communist country. I was four years old when martial law was introduced. I cannot say that I had a bad childhood, but commodities were limited. I have pictures of long queues and empty stores with nothing on the shelves but vinegar. But people helped one another; if somebody found something on the black market they always shared it with their neighbours. It was quite fun, actually, for a kid. Once in a while we were lucky.
Saskia de Brauw on the Respective Power of Sight and Insight
“John M. Hull was fully sighted until he was a young man, and in his forties he lost his sight completely. On Sight and Insight: A Journey Into the World of Blindness is dark in every sense. It’s not a beautiful story – he’s struggling even to stay awake – but it’s very beautifully written. There are passages about turning off the senses to focus on what is happening inside – creating a new relationship with the outside world.
Michel Gaubert, Sound Designer, on His First Chanel Show
“The first time I worked for Chanel was in March 1990. I came home from work and I went to sleep; and my phone rang around 1:30am: ‘Hi Michel, it’s Karl.’ Okay. ‘Listen, I have this Chanel show tomorrow morning and the music sucks. I just heard it – the guy didn’t do anything I wanted. You have to help me. It’s in eight hours.’ I said, ‘I just took a sleeping pill! I don’t know what I’m going to be able to do.’ But I went to Karl’s house, at 5am, and we stuck together all kinds of stuff .
Film Publicist Peggy Siegal on Gallerist Larry Gagosian
“I met Larry 27 years ago. I had read he had just bought Toad Hall, built on the dunes in Amagansett and designed by Charles Gwathmey. A total stranger, I called Larry up and said, ‘You have a screening room; I have all the movies. I would like to make a deal.’ He was so horrified and intrigued that he said, ‘Sure!’ My proposal was to split the seats 50/50 between my filmmaker friends and his artists and collectors. Larry and I ended up introducing each other to many creative people.
Nile Rodgers on the Wizardry of David Bowie
Nile is wearing a gabardine suit, shirt and leather loafers by Gucci. Roll-neck jumper by Joseph. His own Kangol hat and glasses.
Vaquera's Patric DiCaprio on the Power of Viral Vine Videos
“Vine is gone. I actually never used it. I find most videos on Tumblr – I’ve been a Tumblr user since I was really young. And Tumblr was full of these round-ups of Vine videos, both really popular ones, and also really weird ones that were under the radar. That’s the tragedy of Vine’s demise: they’ve kept those that had a lot of attention, but a lot of the weirder accounts don’t exist anymore.
Kirsten Dunst: Beguiling
You can buy a copy of our latest issue here. This is the second instalment of a two-part interview, taken from the summer issue of Dazed. Both of you started out in the industry as kids and grew up around film sets, and you’ve both had graceful transitions into adult roles. Do you see yourselves in one another at all? Kirsten Dunst: There’s definitely a kindred spirit, soul-mate thing that I feel with Elle. But Elle is more confident than I was at 19. Maybe I had more of a people-pleasing thing.

Róisín Murphy: from trip-hop star to disco siren
In the YouTube comments for Ro?isi?n Murphy’s self-directed video for “Evil Eyes”, someone writes, “You are something else girl, love you.” Another fan adds, “She’s unstoppable, a gem among pearls.” A few users have picked up on the clip’s homage to Ingmar Bergman’s Persona at one minute 40 seconds. It’s often been written that Murphy is too weird for the mainstream. That’s a loaded badge of honour, implying both a kind of horror and abject failure by whoever’s holding the pen.
